Unveiling the Stars of Resilience and the Epitome of Excellence, The World Brands Foundation (TWBF) hosted The BrandLaureate SMEs BestBrands Awards 2023 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of SMEs across various industries in Malaysia and their tireless efforts to press forward despite the challenges that arise.
SMEs are the lifeblood of the economy, holding the keys to global growth, driving employment, innovation, and economic expansion. The Awards aim to shine a spotlight on the remarkable journeys of SMEs and their contributions to the branding landscape. With SMEs representing a significant portion of the business ecosystem, the Awards recognize their commitment, innovation, and perseverance in creating impactful brands. By acknowledging their exceptional accomplishments, TWBF also seeks to motivate and empower other aspiring SMEs to strive for greatness.
This year’s Awards champion the theme: STAY UP, STAY ON, STAY AHEAD TO ADVANCE FOR YOUR BRAND! in celebration of the strong and tenacious SMEs that have stayed up and remained confident in the face of adversities, stayed on steadily along the path towards their brand vision, and stayed ahead of the curve to advance their brand in pursuit of superior achievements.
Dr KKJohan, World President of The BrandLaureate, delivered an inspiring speech to the awardees of the night, emphasising that the journey of SMEs is not merely about reaching a final destination. Instead, it revolves around embracing the perpetual process of growth. Each milestone achieved signifies a step forward, presenting an opportunity to learn, evolve, and redefine what is possible.
He also reiterated the importance of embracing change for SMEs. “CHANGE is constant. It is vital for your growth, for sustainability, survivability, and success. CHANGE will move you from one mile marker to the next, defying all odds.” In his closing remarks, Dr KKJohan stated: “Don’t wait for the perfect moment; but instead, take the moment and make it perfect for yourselves and for your brand. You are one who can be the CHANGE. Just do it!”
The highlight of the night includes the official signing of the strategic collaboration between The BrandLaureate and Universiti Malaya Centre for Continuing Education (UMCCed) to confer the certification as a Certified Brand Manager. The Education League, the education arm of The BrandLaureate will facilitate and run this course to help enrollees achieve their certification.
The evening also saw the strategic partnerships of SME Corporation Malaysia as The BrandLaureate SMEs BestBrands Awards – Strategic Business Partner, Universiti Malaya Centre for Continuing Education (UMCCed) as The BrandLaureate SMEs BestBrands Awards – Strategic Education Partner, The New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad (NSTP) as The BrandLaureate SMEs BestBrands Awards 2023 – Strategic Media Partner and MasterMind Council as The BrandLaureate SMEs BestBrands Awards 2023 – Strategic Business Alliance.
