Soft Launch Of The 11th International Rubber Glove Conference & Exhibition 2024

The 11th International Rubber Glove Conference & Exhibition (IRGCE) 2024 is set to commence with its soft launch and the signing ceremony of key sponsors, graced by the Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, YB Datuk Chan Foong Hin.
“Businesses, professionals and experts in the rubber gloves, healthcare, financial, technology, and sustainability sectors should participate in this event. I also advocate the participation of the education sector, including universities, research houses and TVET institutions, to involve students and researchers in technical science and engineering, production, chemistry, and IT within the rubber glove sector. The rubber glove industry employs over 70 thousand workers across various streams of expertise. With its continuous advancement in automation and digitalization, there are abundant employment opportunities for skilled talents,” said YB Datuk Chan.

Scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur from September 3rd to 5th, 2024, the 11th IRGCE is a biennial event that brings together stakeholders from the rubber glove industry to collaborate and shape the future of this dynamic sector. Organized by the Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association (MARGMA) and co-hosted by the Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC), the conference will feature technical papers and keynote presentations by international and local experts. The exhibition will showcase the largest collection of rubber gloves and related industry products and services from around the world.
Key sponsors participating in the signing ceremony include leading global rubber glove companies such as Hartalega, Top Glove, and Kossan, as well as prominent industry players including CCM Polymers, Aquaspersions, Reebow Intelligent Equipment, and Tiong Tat Printing Industry. This partnership is expected to drive effectiveness, innovation and sustainability within the industry.
“IRGCE brings together industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers from around the world to foster an unparalleled exchange of knowledge and innovation. It serves as a platform not just for trade and industry but also for learning and engagement for thousands of conference attendees at each event. Currently, 550 booths have been reserved by 171 exhibitors from 17 countries for the 11th IRGCE in September, and requests are still pouring in. We should be expecting over 12,000 visitors to attend the exhibition halls at the KL Convention Centre this September.” said Mr. Oon Kim Hung, President of MARGMA.
The upcoming 11th edition, themed “Towards an Effective, Sustainable, and Innovative Rubber Glove Industry,” promises to be even more impactful, continuing to serve as a vital platform for industry innovation and collaboration. MARGMA is currently exploring the establishment of common standards for Malaysian-manufactured rubber gloves, including lifecycle assessments and labor condition applications. The Association believes that collaboration with stakeholders and leveraging on technologies with IoT and AI can pave the way forward to enhancing the supply chain.
YBhg. Dato Sri Mohamad Suparadi Bin Md Noor, Chairman of the Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC), was also a speaker at the soft launch event, “IRGCE aims to bring together key players from the rubber glove industry to showcase Malaysia as the world’s top manufacturer of quality rubber gloves. Additionally, this event will also offer valuable opportunities for industry professionals to learn and exchange ideas, contributing to the growth of the rubber glove industry. I am confident that the opportunities awaiting us at IRGCE will bring significant benefits to the rubber industry. MRC is proud to collaborate with MARGMA as co-hosts for the upcoming 11th International Rubber Glove Conference and Exhibition (IRGCE), showcasing our commitment to advancing the rubber glove industry”.
Jointly supporting IRGCE 2024 is the Plastics and Rubber Institute Malaysia (PRIM), which aims to promote and enhance the practice of polymer science and technology through educational and related programs to meet the professional needs of both individual and industrial members. PRIM will host the PRIM International Rubber Conference (PIRC2024) alongside IRGCE 2024, featuring 36 presentations in two parallel sessions focused on the theme of “Innovating Sustainable Polymer Products.”
The event is supported by the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (MPC), the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB), and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
As the rubber glove industry navigates through challenges and opportunities, MARGMA remains committed to promoting ethical, responsible, and sustainable practices, ensuring its position as a global leader in rubber glove manufacturing.
