World Renowned Brahma Kumaris Leader Sister Jayanti Graces Malaysia

Last Friday marked a monumental moment for Malaysian Brahma Kumaris followers with the arrival of Sister Jayanti, a world-renowned speaker and spiritual leader of the Brahma Kumaris Foundation.

Born in India and educated in London, Jayanti embodies a blend of Eastern wisdom and Western education and culture. These unique qualities allow her to effortlessly reach out and relate to a crowd composed of diverse races and faiths.

In the short yet succinct event at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Jayanti said that it was possible to achieve world peace although it appears to be difficult in hindsight.

She explained that the actions of a single person carry the power to influence many others. These people, in turn, create a snowball effect which is able to bring about world peace and harmony that the human soul craves yet is oftentimes unable to identify with.

Jayanti said people usually look for external means to solve a problem, not realising that the solution is oftentimes within themselves. She further quoted Mahatma Gandhi who said, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

When asked about her wishlist for the world, Jayanti said she desired a world of peace, love, truth, joy and purity.

“These are the five qualities for a better world, and it is not difficult, since these qualities are inherent within the human spirit. Because we are not in touch with ourselves, we do not have a world with such qualities,” she said.

According to Jayanti, she believes the collective human consciousness is moving towards a future of love and respect for everyone. She added that respect needs to be developed within oneself first. When a person respects himself, he is then able to respect others.

Respect, however, is not confined to human beings, but to every lifeform.

Jayanti is of the opinion that the breakdown of ecology happens because people disrespect nature.
