HABIB TRULY MALAYSIA AT SURIA KLCC WOWS TOURISTS AND LOCALS

As the country kicks off Visit Malaysia Year 2014 celebrations, homegrown jeweller HABIB is setting hearts a flutter with its ‘HABIB Truly Malaysia’ Exhibition at Suria KLCC. With throngs of tourists flocking to this popular shopping destination which is also a favourite hang-out for locals, Suria KLCC is the ideal location for the ‘HABIB Truly Malaysia’ exhibition.

The ‘HABIB Truly Malaysia’ Exhibition was launched today with a bevy of local beauties and celebrities amid a dazzling array of precious gems. Clad in colourful traditional wear to reflect the different cultures and regions of the country, the celebrities took to the stage to showcase HABIB’s range of collections that were inspired by the country’s flora and fauna.

Among the collections worn by Yasmin Hani, Thanuja Ananthan, Lee Yvonne, Zara Zya, Kaka and Hunny Madu in the Jewellery Parade were HABIB’s heritage collection comprising the kerongsang cucuk sanggul, and the traditional gold belt that is still a must-have accessory for local traditional wear, and a rose-cut diamond collection featuring the classic intan in contemporary designs.

Dato’ Meer Habib, Managing Director of HABIB said, “KLCC is one of Malaysia’s most attractive shopping destinations. With this being Visit Malaysia Year, HABIB as a homegrown brand decided to showcase the wonders of this country through our dazzling gems and provide an unforgettable experience to both our local and foreign patrons.”

“Being a brand that has grown side by side with the country for more than 56 years, HABIB takes special pride in doing our part to promote Malaysia’s wonders. After all Malaysia is truly Asia and HABIB  is truly as Malaysian as one can get.” Dato’ Meer further explained. Adding further glitter to the affair was HABIB’s solid gold replica of the iconic national landmark, the Petronas Twin Towers.

“When we first unveiled our solid gold Petronas Twin Tower replica in 2001, which is 1/1000th the size of the original structure and crafted with 6 kg of gold and studded with diamond and gemstones, it was valued around RM1 million. Given the price of gold today, the current value of the miniature Twin Tower is approximately RM 2 million. Its increased value today shows that gold price has steadily grown over the years, despite some dips here and there. And that’s the beauty of gold! It is indeed a worthwhile long-term investment,” Dato’ Meer concluded.

With special discounts and attractive offers, the exhibition is an event not to be missed. Customers can expect offers from up to 70% discount on all diamond and gemstone jewellery. The HABIB Truly Malaysia Exhibition is on from 10am to 10pm daily and ends on March 11, 2014.
